Santa decides to paint the house instead of putting on vinyl siding. The paint will cover 400 square feet per gallon. Use Santa's answer from 1,464 square feet to decide how many gallons of paint he'll need to buy for one coat. Remember that Santa can't buy part of a can paint.

Given that:

- The paint will cover 400 square feet per gallon.

- The area to paint is 1,464 square feet.

Let be "x" the number of gallons of he will need to buy for one coat.

In order to find the value of "x", you need to divide the total area to paint by the area one gallon covers.

You get:

\begin{gathered} x=(1464ft^2)/(400ft^2) \\ \\ x\approx4 \end{gathered}

Hence, the answer is:

4\text{ }gallons
