-2x-6 =3x-21

Move all the variable terms ( the ones that have the x variable) to the left side of the equation:

-2x-3x = -21+6

Combine like terms

-5x = -15

Divide both sides of the equation by -5:

-5x/-5 = -15 /-5

x = 3
