The area of a rectangle with dimensions "a" by "b" is given by the following:

area=a\cdot b

While the perimeter is given by:

perimeter=2\cdot a+2\cdot b

With this in mind we can see that:

"A" represents the area.

"B" represents neither.

"C" represents neither.

"D" represents the perimeter.
