From the above diagram

Let's first select the even numbers (numbers that can be divided by 2 without a remainder) => 8, 10, 12, and 14 which is 4 even numbers

The total numbers are 8 altogether

Probability is given by the formula


\text{probability =}\frac{number\text{ of required}}{total\text{ number of sample}}

The required here is the even number = 4 in total

while the sample is the total numbers given = 8

Substituting these values into the above, we will have


\text{probability =}(4)/(8)


\text{probability = }(1)/(2)
