Find the volume of a room 10m by 12 m by 3.5m. (remember: V = l w h). • Use the Internet to help you convert the dimensions to cm, ft., and yd., then find the volume in cm3 and m3, then convert to ft3 and yd3. Round all final results to one decimal place.

The formula for the Volume(V) of the room is,

V=lwh

Note:

1m=100cm

Therefore,

\begin{gathered} 10m=10*100=1000 \\ 12m=12*100=1200 \\ 3.5m=3.5*100=350 \end{gathered}

Hence,

V=1000*1200*350=420000000cm^3

Next:

V=10*12*3.5=420m^3

Also:

1m=3.28ft

Then

\begin{gathered} _10m=10*3.28ft=32.8ft \\ 12m=12*3.28ft=39.36ft\approx39.4ft \\ 3.5=3.5*3.28ft=11.48ft\approx11.5ft \end{gathered}

Therefore,

\begin{gathered} V=32.8*39.36*11.48=14820.77184\approx14820.8ft^3 \\ \end{gathered}

Finally,

1m=1.09361yd

Hence,

\begin{gathered} 10m=10*1.09361=10.9361yd\approx10.9yd \\ 12m=12*1.09361=13.12332yd\approx13.1yd \\ 3.5m=3.5*1.09361=3.827635yd\approx3.8yd \end{gathered}

Then,

V=10.9361*3.827635*13.12332=549.33428\approx549.3yd^3
