Area of a rectangle = L × W

For the rectangle in the question,

L = Length of the rectangle = 20 ft.

W = Width of the rectangle = 10 ft.

Area of the rectangle = L × W = 20 × 10 = 200 ft²

Area of a triangle = ½ × B × H

For each of the triangles in the question,

B = Base of the triangle = 5 ft.

H = Perpendicular height of the triangle = 5 ft.

Area of one of the triangle = ½ × B × H = ½ × 5 × 5 = 12.5 ft²

Area of the two triangles = 2 (Area of one of the triangles)

= 2 (12.5)

= 25 ft²
