The balanced reaction :


4NH_3(g)\text{ + 6NO}(g)\text{ }\Rightarrow5N_2(g)\text{ +6H}_2O(l)\text{ }

According to stoichiometry, theoritical moles of

NH3 : NO is

4 : 6

= 2 : 3

Experimental moles of

NH3 : NO is

1.24 : 1.79

Since NO is in excess , NH3 is the limiting reactant .
