change the question is: What is the average rate of change for this function for the interval from x= 2 to x = 4, the average rate of change is:


(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

with the points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2)

in this case, when x=2 y= 4 so the point is (2,4)

and when x=4 y=16 (I'm seeing this from the table in the image)

so the points are (2,4) and (4,16)


(16-4)/(4-2)=(12)/(2)=6

so the answer is:

to x = 4 is = 6
