If m∠R=x−6,m∠S=x+12,  and  ∠R  and  ∠S are complementary, find the measures of the two angles.

Two angles are called complementary when their measurements sum to 90 degrees.

Thus:

x - 6 + x + 12 = 90

2x =84

x = 42

R = 36

S = 54
