tire pressure monitoring system warn driver when tire pressure is 26% below target pressure of 31 psi. a) at what pressure will tms trigger warning. b) suppose tire pressure is a normally distributed random variable with standard deviation of 2psi. if the average tire pressure is on target, what is the probability that the triggers warning. c) correct inflation rate is 29psi to 33psi. if tires inspected at random what is probability the tires inflation is within recommended range.

Mnf, this is the solution to part a:

Target = 31 psi

The tms (tire monitoring system) will trigger warning at:

31 - (0.26 * 31) = 31 - 8.06 = 22.94

At 22.94 psi
