In division, the identity property is with 1:

21\cdot1=21

We have the fraction:

(21)/(42)

If we factorize 42, we have 2*21=42.

We also know, by the identity property, that 1*21=21.

Then, we have:

(21)/(42)=(1\cdot21)/(2\cdot21)=(1)/(2)
