Given:

Initial Volume = 80 L

Drainage flow rate = 2.5 L/ min

Required:

Time until 32.5 L of water is left in tank B

Solution

The volume of water drained when 32.5 L is left on tank B is:

Vd = 80 L - 32.5 L = 47.5 L of water drained.

the time required to drain 47.5 L of water is:

t = Vd / flowrate

t = 47.5 L / 2.5 L min

t = 19 min.

Answer.

It will take 19 min
