You have the following system of equations:

-2x + 2y = 10

-9x + 8y = 46

in order to solve the previous equation, proceed as follow:

- divide by 2 the first equation:

-x + y = 10 solve for y

y = x + 10

- replace the previous expression for y into the second equation of the system and solve for x:

-9x + 8y = 46

-9x + 8(x + 10) = 46

-9x + 8x + 80 = 46 simplify like terms left side and subtract 80 both sides

-x = 46 - 80

-x = -34

x = 34

-replace the previous value of x into the expression y = x + 10, to find y:

y = x + 10

y = 34 + 10

y = 44

Hence, the solution to the given system of equations is:

(34,44)
