Rolex wrote a check for $45

The next day, he wrote a check for $32

We are asked to use an integer to express the change in his bank balance when the two checks were cashed.

When the two checks were cashed means that that much amount was subtracted from his account.

So we can write the change in his bank account as

-\$45+(-\$32)=-\$45-\$32=-\$77

Therefore, -$77 is the change in his bank balance when the two checks were cashed.
