Step 2:

Simplify the expression


\begin{gathered} \text{ = 8}^3-8^(-2) \\ =8^3\text{ - }(1)/(8^2) \end{gathered}

Step 3:


\begin{gathered} =\text{ }\frac{8^3\text{ }*8^2\text{ - 1}}{8^2} \\ =\text{ }\frac{8^5\text{ - 1}}{8^2} \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} =\text{ }\frac{32768\text{ - 1}}{64} \\ =\text{ }(32767)/(64) \\ =\text{ 511.98} \end{gathered}
