Given data:

The first number is 4/9.

The second number is 5/10.

The first number can be written as,

\begin{gathered} (4)/(9)=(4*10)/(9*10) \\ =(40)/(90) \\ \end{gathered}

The second number can be written as,

\begin{gathered} (5)/(10)=(5*9)/(10*9) \\ =(45)/(90) \end{gathered}

Now compare both numbers as they have same denominator.

\begin{gathered} (40)/(90)<(45)/(90) \\ or \\ (4)/(9)<(5)/(10) \end{gathered}

Thus, the < symbol must be used between both n
