To find the y-intercept of the function, set x=0 and solve for y, as shown below


\begin{gathered} x=0 \\ \Rightarrow y=-(1)/(2)*0+2=2 \\ \Rightarrow(0,2) \end{gathered}

On the other hand, to find the x-intercept set y=0 and solve for x,


\begin{gathered} y=0 \\ \Rightarrow0=-(1)/(2)x+2 \\ \Rightarrow-2=-(1)/(2)x \\ \Rightarrow x=4 \\ \Rightarrow(4,0) \end{gathered}

Draw points (0,2), and (4,0) on the plane and cross them using a straight line as in the image below
