The fundraising committee has set a goal to sell enough candy bars to help pay for the refreshments at the school prom. They have already sold 161 candy bars. This represents 35% of their overall goal. How many candy bars in all would meet their goal? A 520 candy bars B 435 candy bars C 420 candy bars D 460 candy bars

is 35%

Then find 100-35 = 65%. Method of aproximation

70% is 161x2 = 322

105% = 161x3 = 483

Now find 5% and substract (105% - 5%= 100%)

5% = 161/ ((35/5)= 23

Then overall goal is 483- 23= 460 candy bars

So then answer is

OPTION D) 460
