This statement is false. Let's see an example

Jana is training for a race that includes a 112 miles bike ride. Today, she rode her bike 12 miles in 45 minutes. What is Jana's rate in miles per hour.

The number of miles Jana rides in one hour is a unit rate. A unit rate compares two quantities where one of them is 1.

The units in this examples are miles and hours. Jana bikes 12 miles in 45 minutes. That's the same as 12 miles in 3/4 hour.

Solving it we have
