Danielle is totally wrong for saying 0.17 is greater than 0.2 because 17 is greater than 2.

She wants to convert the decimals to a counting number so, she has to multiply the both numbers by the same value. She is suppose to multiply both numbers by 100 to remove the decimal instead she multiplied 0.17 by 100 and multiplied 0.2 by 10 which is totally wrong.

The way of doing it is explained below

\begin{gathered} 0.17*100=17 \\ 0.2*100=20 \\ \text{you can se}e\text{ that 20 is greater than 17.} \end{gathered}
