6. Explain why the equation 2(4x - 6) = 8x + 8 has no solutions.

Solution

For this case we have the following equation:

2(4x-6)= 8x+8

Solving for x we have:

8x -12 = 8x +8

Then we can do this subtracting 8x in both sides:

0x = 20

0* x= 0

0= 20 (Contradiction)

Which is a contradiction and not makes sense
