We have a right triangle.

With repect to the angle 43°, we can say:

EC = adjacent

DE = opposite

DC = hypotenuse

Now,

We need to find x, which is side adjacent.

We know cos of an angle, A, is

Cos A = adjacent/hypotenuse

\cos 43=(x)/(95)

Cross multiplying, we can write:

\begin{gathered} x=95\cos 43 \\ x=69.5\text{ feet} \end{gathered}
