Given: 2 friends are going to split the money

Controller - $56.35

Video Game - $73.40 but 50% off

First we have to find what 50% is of $73.40

50% is out of 100% so that means its half. We simply multiply by 1/2

$73.40*(1)/(2)\Rightarrow(73.40)/(2)\Rightarrow36.70$

So 50% of $73.40 is $36.70

Now we know the actual price of the video game and now we can add the price of the controller to get the total.

$36.70+56.35\Rightarrow93.05$

Both friends are going to pay $93.05 in total. But we we need to find how much each friend pays.
