Lucy and Kylie both spy a drone in the sky. Lucy is 16 feet away from the drone with an angle of elevation of 34° from her to the drone. Kylie is 24 feet away from the drone. What is the angle of elevation from Kylie to the drone.

The information can be shown in the diagram below:

Using the law of sine it follows:


(\sin34)/(24)=(\sin K)/(16)

This gives


\begin{gathered} 24*\sin K=16*\sin 34 \\ \sin K=(16*\sin 34)/(24) \end{gathered}

Solve the equation for K


\begin{gathered} \sin K=(16*0.5592)/(24) \\ \sin K=(8.9472)/(24) \\ \sin K=0.3728 \\ K=\sin ^(-1)(0.3728) \\ K=21.88^(\circ) \end{gathered}

Therefore, the angle of elevation from Kylie is 21.88°
