Given any percentage below

x\text{ \%}

The fractional notation of the above perentage is as shown below

x\text{ \%}=(x)/(100)

Given 62.5% in the question, the fraction notation is as shown below:

\begin{gathered} 62.5\text{ \%=}(62.5)/(100) \\ \text{Writing the fraction in its lowest form} \end{gathered}

\begin{gathered} (62.5)/(100)=(62.5*10)/(100*10) \\ (62.5*10)/(100*10)=(625)/(1000) \\ (625)/(1000)=(25*25)/(25*40) \\ (25*25)/(25*40)=(25)/(40) \\ (25)/(40)=(5*5)/(5*8) \\ (5*5)/(5*8)=(5)/(8) \end{gathered}

Hence, the fractional notation of 62.5% is 625/1000, and in its lowest term gives 5/8
