( 2x^5 + 7x^3) - (5x^2 - 4x^3 )

First, distribute the minus sign on the second parentheses.

(2x^5 + 7x^3 ) -5x^2 + 4x^3

Combine like terms

2x^5 + 7x^3 -5x^2 + 4x^3

2x^5 + 7x^3 + 4x^3 - 5x^2

2x^5 +11x^3 - 5x^2
