A young wrestler decided to go on a special high protein diet to gain weight rapidly and at a constant rate.

After 8 months, he weighed 138 kilograms.

In 8 monthe = 138 Kg

He start with 90 kg weight,

i.e. In 0 months, weight = 90 Kg

The general expression for the linear equation is :

y-y_1=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)(x-x_1)

Substitute the value of the coordinates and simplify :

\begin{gathered} y-y_1=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)(x-x_1) \\ y-90=(138-90)/(8-0)(x-0) \\ y-90=(48)/(8)x \\ y-90=6x \\ y=6x\text{ + 90} \end{gathered}

Equation of the relationship between weight of the wrestler with the number of months. y = 6x + 90

Answer : y = 6x + 90
