Given,

The equation of lines are

\begin{gathered} y=(2)/(3)x+7 \\ y=(2)/(3)x-9 \end{gathered}

Required

Check whether the lines are parallel or perpendicular.

Here,

The standard equation of the line is

y = mx + c

Where, m is the slope of the line.

The slope of first line is 2/3.

The slope of the second line is also 2/3.

When the slopes of the line is equal then the lines are parallel. When the slope of the line 1 is negative reciprocal of line 2 then the lines are perpendicular.

Here, the slopeof both line is equal (2/3).

Hence, the lines are parallel.
