Given

The length of each edge of the base of pyramid is 60 in.

The height of triangular face is 50 in.

Step-by-step explanation

To find the total surface area of large pyramid,

Draw the figure of pyramid.

The total surface area of triangular pyramid is equal to the sum of the surface area of square base and surface area of 4 triangular faces.

Find the surface area of square base.

60*60=3600in^2

Find the surface area of triangular face ,

\begin{gathered} (1)/(2)* base* height=(1)/(2)*60*50 \\ (1)/(2)*60*50=1500in^2 \end{gathered}

As there are four triangular faces.

1500*4=6000in^2

Now the total surface area of pyramid is

3600+6000=9600in^2

Answer

Hence the total surface area of pyramid is 9600 sq.in.
