a. Let y = the monthly cost

Let x = the number of GB of data used per month

Equation

Then, the equation that model the cell phone plan is:

y=10x+45

Table

x = -5

y=10(-5)+45=-50+45=-5

x = -3

y=10(-3)+45=-30+45=15

x = 0

y=10(0)+45=0+45=45

x = 1

y=10(1)+45=10+45=55

x = 2

y=10(2)+45=20+45=65

Therefore, the table is:

x y

-5 -5

-3 15

0 45

1 55

2 65

Graph

We graph the equation y = 10x + 45

b. Unlimited data costs $100, this is y = 100, therefore:

100=10x+45

And solve for x

\begin{gathered} 100-45=10x+45-45 \\ 55=10x \\ (55)/(10)=(10x)/(10) \\ x=5.5 \end{gathered}
