4. A patient must take 200 milligrams of medication with each meal. If 1 milliliter ofliquid contains 25 milligrams of medication, how many milliliters of medication shouldthe patient take each day? Assume that the patient eats 3 meals per day.

To determine how many milliliters the patient need each meal we can use a rule of three:


\begin{gathered} 1\text{ mL}\rightarrow25\text{ mg} \\ x\rightarrow200\text{ mg} \end{gathered}

then:


x=(200\cdot1)/(25)=8

Hence the patient need 8 mL each meal; since the patient eats three meals per day he needs a total 24 mL per day of the medication.
