at a local park Sylvia can choose between two circular paths One path has a diameter of 48 yards the other has a radius of 20 yards how much further will Sylvia walk on the longer path than the shorter path if she walks Once Around The Path use 3.14 for pi show your work in the space below

to know the path that each circle travels we must find the circumference or perimeter of each one

Formula of the perimeter is

P=2*\pi* r

where r is the radious of the dcircle

First Path

Diameter is 48, then the radius is 24

replacing

\begin{gathered} P=2*\pi*24 \\ P=2*3.14*24 \\ P=150.72 \end{gathered}

Second Path

\begin{gathered} P=2*\pi*20 \\ P=2*3.14*20 \\ P=125.60 \end{gathered}

Difference

we subtract the perimeters to know how much would she walk more

\begin{gathered} 150.72-125.60 \\ =25.12 \end{gathered}

she will walk 25.12 feet more
