Trash-A-Way charges $25 per month with an additional $0.25 per pound of trash that they pick up from your house. Garbage-No-More charges a flat fee of $45 per month. Write a system of equations to represent each plan. How many pounds of trash would make the two plans equal?Separate your equations and final number of visits by comas.

In Trash-A- Way

The equation represents it is

The cost = 25 + 0.25p, where p is the number of pounds

In No-More Charges

The equation is

The cost = 45

Let the cost = y, then

\begin{gathered} y=25+0.25p \\ y=45 \end{gathered}

Now, we will equate the 2 equations to find p

25+0.25p=45

Subtract 25 from both sides

\begin{gathered} 25-25+0.25p=45-25 \\ 0.25p=20 \end{gathered}

Divide both sides by 0.25 to find p

\begin{gathered} (0.25p)/(0.25)=(20)/(0.25) \\ p=80 \end{gathered}

Write the answer like that

y=25+0.25p,y=45,80
