Explanation:

Open the bracket by multiplying the numbers in the bracket by 2

2x-20=59

collect like terms(-20 crossing over the equal sign will become +20

2x=59+20

2x=79

Divide both sides by 2


(2x)/(2) =(79)/(2)

x=39.5
