How many wheels were on the Block if there were 6 bicycles and 15 cars?

Bicycles = 2 wheels

Cars = 4 wheels

Total wheels on 6 bicycles and 15 cars = 2(6) + 4(15)

= 12 + 60

= 72 wheels

Therefore,

if there were x bicycles and y cars = 2(x) + 4(y)

= 2x + 4y
