As we get closer to cleaner fuels, the coal mining market has dwindled. Do you think this is a good or bad thing or both? Why?

Coal mining is one of the sources of energy in many countries. The decrease in the coal mining market is a good thing. Mining coal has devastating consequences like habitat destruction, landscape destruction, water pollution, the decline of many species population, etc. With the decline of coal mining, many countries will need to focus on "clean energy" sources like solar or wind. The environment around the coal mines will slowly restore to its ecologically functional state. The declining species population may recover as well.
