We want to find the subtraction of two functions, f and g, we can write it as

(f-g)(x)

That's the same thing as

(f-g)(x)=f(x)-g(x)

Then we can put the definition of f and g and solve it

f(x)-g(x)=(x^2-16)-(x+4)

Simplify it

\begin{gathered} f(x)-g(x)=(x^(2)-16)-(x+4) \\ \\ f(x)-g(x)=x^2-16-x-4 \\ \\ f(x)-g(x)=x^2-x-20 \\ \end{gathered}

The final answer is

(f-g)(x)=x^2-x-20
