The geometric mean, sometimes referred to as geometric average of a set of numerical values, like the arithmetic mean is a type of average, a measure of central tendency.

The expression for Geoemtry mean is :

\text{ Geometry Mean=}\sqrt[n]{a* b* c\ldots.* nterms}

From the given question we have only two entries : 17 & 57, n=2

Susbtitute them and solve

\begin{gathered} \text{ Geometry Mean=}\sqrt[n]{a* b* c\ldots.* nterms} \\ \text{ Geometry Mean=}\sqrt[2]{17*57} \\ \text{ Geometry Mean=}\sqrt[2]{969} \\ \text{ Geometry Mean =}31.1287 \\ \text{ To the near tenths place 31.1287=31.1} \\ Geometry\text{ Mean = 31.1} \end{gathered}

Answer: 31.1
