As we can see there is a significant increase in the population at the year 7, for a population to increase its numbers, means that there are favorable conditions for the population to be prosperous, so options b, c, and d actually harden environmental conditions which would lead to a decrease in population numbers, therefore, we can say that the correct answer is the option a.
