Given that:

Height of the trapezoid, h = 24 in.

Bases are a = 48 in, b = 60 in.

Find the area of the trapezoid.

\begin{gathered} A=(48+60)/(2)\cdot24 \\ =54\cdot24 \\ =1296 \end{gathered}

Number of tiles needed

\begin{gathered} =(1296)/(16) \\ =81 \end{gathered}

So, 81 number of tiles needed to create the trapezoidal hearth.
