Kinetic friction is the friction that opposes the motion of an object. And static friction is the friction that opposes the initiation of the motion of an object.

The kinetic friction is always lesser than the static friction because when the object is at rest, you apply a certain force to start the motion of the object. That is the object will start to move only when the applied force is equal to or greater than the static friction.

Once the object is in motion, the kinetic friction will come into action. And if the kinetic friction is the same or greater than the static friction the object will stop immeadiately. But it doesnot.

Thus the kinetic friction is less than the static friction.

Hence the coefficient of the static friction is always larger than the coefficient of kinetic energy.

Therefore, the given statement is true
