\huge\text{Hey there!}

\mathsf{(z^2 - x)/(z + 2x)}

\mathsf{=(5^2 - 3)/(5 + 2(3))}

\mathsf{= (5 * 5 - 3)/(5 + 6)}

= \mathsf{(25 - 3)/(5 + 6)}

\mathsf{= (22)/(11)}

\mathsf{= 2}

\huge\text{Therefore, your answer should be: \boxed{\mathsf 2}}\huge\checkmark

We have the following:

(z^2-x)/(z+2x)

x = 3

z = 5

replacing:

(5^2-3)/(5+2\cdot3)=(25-3)/(5+6)=(22)/(11)=2

The answer is 2
