knowing the zeros we can rewrite the quadratic function as:

f(x) = (x+2)(x-6)

multiplying both terms we have:

f(x) = x^2 - 4x -12

where:

a = 1

b = -4

c = -12

formula fot axis of symmetry is x= -b/2a

then x= -(-4)/(2*1) = 2
