-32=8+5x

To solve x:

1- Subtract 8 in both sides of the equation:

\begin{gathered} -32-8=8-8+5x \\ -40=5x \end{gathered}

2- Divide both sides of the equation into 5:

\begin{gathered} -(40)/(5)=(5)/(5)x \\ \\ -8=x \\ \\ \text{ Rewrite:} \\ x=-8 \end{gathered}Then, x is -8
