A plane is approaching landing at 140km/sec. It decelerates at a rate of -14.82 km/sec². How much time would it take the plane to land and come to a complete stop?

Answer:

Initial velocity, u = 600km/h

Final velocity, v = 1100km/h

Acceleration = 10km/h/s=600km/h2

From relation,

a=t(v−u)

t=a(v−u)

t=600(1100−600)

=500/600=5/6 hr=50 sec
