Let's recall one of the properties of the exponents:

When we have a negative exponent, we solve it, as follows:


x^(-n)=1/x^n

Then we solve the power given, this way:


3^{-4\text{ }}=\frac{1}{3^4\text{ }}\text{ = 1/81}

We can express it either as a fraction or as a decimal:

1/81 = 0.0123
