The equation of a line in the slope intercept form is expressed as

y = mx + c

The given equation is expressed as

6x - 2y = - 8

Adding 2y to both sides of the equation, we have

6x - 2y + 2y = - 8 + 2y

6x = - 8 + 2y

adding 8 to both sides of the equation, we have

6x + 8 = - 8 + 8 + 2y

2y = 6x + 8

Dividing both sides of the equation by 2, we have

y = 3x + 4

The equation in slope intercept form is

y = 3x + 4
