\begin{gathered} (AB)/(BD)=(AC)/(CE) \\ (8)/(6)=(10)/(CE) \\ CE=7.5 \\ So, \\ AE=AC+CE \\ AE=10+7.5 \\ AE=17.5 \end{gathered}
