To find average speed, there is a simple formula:


\begin{gathered} v=(x)/(t) \\ \text{where, } \\ v=\text{speed} \\ x=\text{distance} \\ t=\text{time} \end{gathered}

Then:


\begin{gathered} v=(5.5)/(0.6) \\ v=9.166\text{ miles per hour} \end{gathered}
