Suppose given points,

\begin{gathered} (x_1,y_1)=(4,1) \\ (x_2,y_2)=(-2,7) \end{gathered}

Equation in slope form.

(y-y_1)=((y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1))(x-x_1)

Substitute the given points.

\begin{gathered} (y-4)=(7-1)/(-2-4)(x-4) \\ y-4=-1(x-4) \\ y-4=-x+4 \\ y=-x+8 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the equation of slope is

y=-x+8
